January is a slow time for photography…the holidays are over and it's cold! I spent some time on vacation with my family last month, and tried to catch up on some projects around the house. I've also been hanging out with Irish dancers!
My middle daughter, Olivia took up Irish step dancing two years ago, after we had to make a sudden change in sports after my oldest daughter's near-fatal horse accident (you can read about that back in blog posts from November, 2012). Having absolutely no connection with Ireland, I enrolled my Chinese daughter in Irish dance in January, 2013. She desperately missed ponies and riding but took to dance, something she had never done before, and discovered she had a talent. She applied herself and practiced. Two years later, she has advanced in literal leaps and bounds, is now dancing at the championship level, and we both have made wonderful friends at our dance school. My youngest daughter is also dancing, not with the same drive as her older sister of course (because that's Natalie!) but she is having a great time with it.
I recently shot some class action photos for our school, the Hooley School of Irish Dance and thought I would share some of these with you!

Practice, practice, practice! And you can make your dreams come true!

Our dancers are busy getting ready for both competitions and our annual showcase, this year titled "The Road Home," and presented on March 28th, in Lititz, PA. I will be proving publicity photos for this event! This show is totally unique for Lancaster County! Get a little Riverdance right here in Lancaster--ticket information is available here.
